Sumaya graduated from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in 2012 with a Bachelor of Law (Honours) Degree. She proceeded to complete her pupillage under the guidance of Puan Zarina Binti Barharudin of M/S Steven Tai, Wong & Partners and was called to the Malaysian Bar on 13th September 2013.
